FDR was President and the first peacetime draft had gone into effect. A gallon of milk cost you $0.51 and gas only $0.18 a gallon! Minimum wage was $0.30 an hour and the average income just $1,906 a year. Fantasia, The Grapes of Wrath, and Pinocchio were in theaters and the Lindy Hop and Zoot Suits were all the rage!
